ABOUT

OUR WORK

My passion for animals formed as a small child and I had developed a deep empathy for all creatures. This empathy progressed into the need to care for any stray or soon to be houseless animal I came across. For the past 25 years I have been an advocate for the houseless and their pets by providing pet food and covering veterinary expenses. I am also no stranger to the difficulties experienced by folks like me who have struggled with the shadows of past mistakes that can wear a person right down to their soul. WagginTails works to provide lost dogs with a second chance, but also a place for the people who feel lost and forgotten in our community to give back in a meaningful and fulfilling way. It is incredible to experience the healing that occurs when people and dogs are brought together.

The WagginTails team formed in 2009 as a pet care service. While providing pet care services we also realized there was a need for search and rescue of lost dogs. On a regular day we are in many different communities due to driving from client to client and will frequently spot loose or lost dogs, which we like to call "runners". We found that there was a lack of information available for families of these lost dogs and what steps they could take to find and reunite with them. Because of this identified need, WagginTails Search and Rescue was born in 2018. We incorporated in January of
2019 and April 2019 we were officially a Non-Profit.
